Bessie Coleman (1892–1926) was a woman of firsts. She was the first female African American pilot, the first female Native American pilot and the first person of African American and Native American descent to hold an international pilot license. The tales of pilots who flew in WWI inspired her, and now she is a figure that inspires. Learn her tale at a lecture on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Medford Leas Theater located at One Medford Leas Way, which is being offered at no cost.
