Southern Burlington County NAACP to host Freedom Fundraiser Gala in Mt. Laurel on Oct. 29

The money raised from the event will allow the SBC NAACP to continue to educate and inform communities.

The Southern Burlington County NAACP Branch will host its sixth annual “Freedom Fundraiser Gala” on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Westin Mt. Laurel, 555 Fellowship Road.

Tickets cost $70 through Oct. 22 and $80 afterward and can be purchased by visiting www.sbcnaacp2016.eventbrite.com

The money raised from the event will allow the SBC NAACP to continue to educate and inform communities. The theme of the event is “V.O.T.E. — Validating Our True Equality”

The keynote speaker of the event will be Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter.

The 2016 award honorees include Community Service Award winner the Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Drum Major Award winners Pastor Cory L. Jones and the Rev. Eric Dobson, Humanitarian Award winners Live Civilly and Mayor Nathaniel Anderson of Willingboro Township, Legacy Award winners Jack & Jill of America Inc. Willingboro-Burlington Chapter and Rising Leaders Global, Professional Achievement Award winner Dolores M. Szymanski, Public Service Award winner Chief Christopher Chew of the Evesham Township Police Department and Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman, W.E.B. DuBois Award winner Melanie Barney of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Roosevelt Nesmith Civil Rights Award winner Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter.
