Book Sale at the Voorhees branch of the Camden County Library

Book

The Voorhees branch of the Camden County library system is holding its biggest book sale with over 60,000 books, CDs, DVDs, books on tape and videos available from Thursday Oct. 20 through Saturday Oct. 22.

“We have had several large donations from estates and collections recently, and we’re preparing to receive one more very large donation of books,” said Voorhees Branch manager William Brahms. “We are expecting this fall’s sale to be truly our largest book sale ever with over 100 tables stocked with books, CDs, DVDs, books-on-tape and videos.”

The tables will continually be filled with new stock from a warehouse-sized room full of books and other materials each day.

99 percent of the items will be priced between fifty cents and two dollars, with nothing over three dollars, according to Brahms.

Customers, collectors and estates, donate about ninety percent of the items with used library materials making up only about ten percent of the stock.

“We are actually filling a void left by the changing book publishing industry, with fewer and few brick and mortar stores around,” said Brahms. “This year we will have ten more tables than we used last year.”

The sale will take place 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Only cash or checks can be accepted. Credit or debit cards cannot be used for payment.

The M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library is located at 203 Laurel Road across from the Voorhees Town Center. More information can be found on the library’s website at http://www.camdencountylibrary.org/voorhees-branch.
