“Along with developing a solid foundation in wrestling and athletics in general, children will benefit from a positive social experience in a sport that encourages independence and self reliance,” former wrestler and current HMHS Principal Chuck Klaus said.

The youth program is very closely aligned with the high school program and Head Coach Mike Miller. Miller is currently a history teacher, football coach and former HMHS wrestler.

All of the youth practices take place at the HMHS wrestling room. Practice begins the week of Nov. 14.

The practices are split between grades kindergarten through second and third through fifth. All match opponents are assigned based on age, weight and skill level. All matches are coached by certified Haddonfield coaches and supervised by professional referees.

All of the youth home matches take place at HMHS. The season begins with a home match on Dec. 18 and continues through the league championship tournament at Clearview High School in February.
