Shoplifting and outstanding warrents top this week’s Mt. Laurel Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, Mt. Laurel Police responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. Loss prevention reported that an employee had been under ringing items, using unauthorized coupon codes, and giving his employee discount to non-employees from June 2016 through August 2016. The total loss to the company was $1,300. Officers arrested male, age 20, of Evesham. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing. All persons are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

At 12:47 p.m. on Sept. 15, Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into suspicious activity at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 27, of Mt. Laurel for an outstanding warrant. She was also found in possession of drugs. She was charged with possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a court hearing after satisfying the arrest warrant.

At 8:58 p.m. on Sept. 15, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Atrium Way. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 35, of Philadelphia after he provided a false name to officers in an attempt to avoid arrest for outstanding warrants. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension with bail set at $3,500 no 10 percent option. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 14, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road near Country Club Parkway. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 48, of Gloucester after he provided a false identification to officers in an attempt to avoid arrest for outstanding warrants. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension and released pending a court hearing after satisfying his warrants.

At 1:18 a.m. on Sept. 14, a Mt. Laurel Police Officer on patrol found an unconscious 34-year-old female in the parking lot of a commercial office building on the 1100 block of Route 73. The officer determined the woman had overdosed on heroin. He administered Narcan and reversed the overdose. She was transported to a hospital by Mt. Laurel EMS for additional treatment.

At 3:40 p.m. on Sept. 13, Mt. Laurel Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 20, of Mahanoy City, Pa and a female, age 41, of Manahawkin. Both were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found they possessed drug-smoking pipes. The first female was released pending a court hearing. The second female was wanted out of Atlantic County for a violation of parole and was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 9:11 a.m. on Sept. 12, Mt. Laurel Police stopped a suspicious person on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the stop officers arrested a female, age 39, of Tabernacle. She was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a court hearing.

A 32-year-old male from Philadelphia reported at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Sept 11 he was assaulted in the parking lot of Miller’s Ale House on Fellowship Road. The victim reported that he intervened in altercation between two groups of people when two unknown individuals assaulted him. The victim sustained facial fractures and a concussion.

At 10:41 a.m on Sept. 11, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a male, age 23, of Westmont. He attempted to steal $276 worth of paint brushes. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

At 4:33 p.m. on Sept. 10, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Wegmans on Centerton Road for a shoplifting. The suspect fled the store on foot when he was approached by store security. Officers located the suspect running on Centerton Road near Marter Avenue. He was ordered to stop but refused. Officers gave chase on foot and took him into custody. A male, age 32, of Croydon, Pa was charged with obstruction of justice and shoplifting $1092 worth of razor blades and teeth whitening strips. Bail was set at $10,000 no 10 percent option. He was also found to be wanted out of Montgomery County Pa and the Board of Probation and Parole, Harrisburg, Pa. The male was charged with being a fugitive from justice with bail set at $15,000 no 10 percent option. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 4:14 p.m. on Sept. 9, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Shop Rite on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. During the investigation officers arrested a male, age 33, of Berlin. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

At 1:53 p.m. on Sept. 9, Mt. Laurel Police arrested a female, age 24, of Runnemede, while at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. She was charged with possession of heroin and released pending a court hearing.

At 12:50 p.m. on Sept. 9, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 to look for a wanted person. The officers arrested a female, age 28, and a female, age 30, both of Mt. Laurel. Officers discovered both subjects possessed illegal drugs. The first female was charged with possession of heroin and released pending a court hearing. The second female was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of oxycodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $17,500 no 10 percent option in addition to $7,500 bail for outstanding warrants from several jurisdictions. She was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

Two unidentified males stole several packages of meat from the Aldi, 3105 Route 38, at 9:12 a.m. on Sept. 8.

On Sept. 8, a female age 28, of Woodlynne, turned herself into the Camden County Sheriff’s Department for an arrest warrant out of Mt. Laurel. The female was charged with shoplifting $440 worth of merchandise from Wegmans on June 15,. The female was turned over to Mt. Laurel Police and then committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Sept. 8, a female, age 51, of Mt. Laurel, turned herself in to Mt. Laurel Police and was charged with hindering the apprehension of a male, age 18, of Mt. Laurel. The charges stemmed from an investigation into a reported theft that occurred in the parking lot of the CVS, 3110 Route 38, at 6:38 p.m. on Sept. 3. On that day the male claimed his backpack was stolen by several other young males. He said the backpack contained his cell phone and debit card. During the investigation the male identified himself as a 17-year-old juvenile with a different name. Officers spoke with the female, who also identified the male as the 17-year-old fictitious person. Later that evening officers discovered the male provided a false name because he was wanted by Marple Township Police, Pa, for robbery. The female was charged with hindering the apprehension of another and released pending a court hearing. The male was charged with third degree hindering apprehension and a warrant for his arrest has been issued. As a result of the original theft report, a warrant was issued for another male, age 19, of Mt. Laurel, charging him with the theft of the backpack. The backpack was later located in the possession of a male, age 18, of Mt. Laurel. Inside the backpack police found jewelry stolen from a recent vehicle burglary on Saxony Drive. The 18-year-old was arrested on Sept. 5 and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

A resident from the first block of Yearling Chase reported that at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 7 he heard the doors of his car close. He looked out of the window and saw an unknown white male in a black t-shirt running out of his driveway. The victim discovered that the suspect stole a laptop from his unlocked vehicle.

On Sept. 7, Mt. Laurel Police received a report of an attempted forgery at the Bed Bath and Beyond on Centerton Road that occurred on Sept. 7. A subject attempted to make a $540 purchase using counterfeit money. When the clerk told the suspect that they could not accept the currency the suspect left the store.

On Aug. 16, Mt. Laurel Police received a report of a shoplifting that had occurred at the Wegmans on Centerton Road on Aug. 12. The investigation revealed that a male, age 31, of Avondale, Pa had shoplifted $167 worth of merchandise from the store. A warrant was issued for his arrest with bail set at $5,000 with no 10 percent option. On Sept. 7, the male was arrested by New Jersey State Police during a motor vehicle stop and then turned over to Mt. Laurel Police. The male was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 10 p.m. on Sept. 6, Mt. laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Ramblewood Parkway. During the stop officers arrested a female, age 48, of Riverside, for an outstanding warrant. She was also fund to possess Suboxone, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was turned over to another law enforcement agency for the warrant.
