Do Something: Fox Trot 5K Run, Pennsylvania Ballet’s ‘The Jungle Book’ taking place in Cherry Hill this weekend

Katz JCC will also be opening its doors to the public on Sunday for an open house.

From a pair of ballet performances at Cherry Hill West to the second annual Fox Hollow Fox Trot 5K Run, there are a ton of events taking place in Cherry Hill and the surrounding area this weekend. Check out a short list of some of the events scheduled around the region for Saturday and Sunday:

In Cherry Hill

  • Runners will converge on the Fox Hollow neighborhood of Cherry Hill on Saturday for the second annual Fox Hollow Fox Trot 5K Run. The run will begin at 8 a.m. at 80 Partridge Lane and will take place inside the Fox Hollow neighborhood. The finish line will be at the crosswalk in front of the Fox Hollow Swim Club.   • Pennsylvania Ballet’s Second Company will pay a visit to Cherry Hill on Saturday as it presents two performances of “The Jungle Book” at Cherry Hill High School West. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s collection of stories from 1894, “The Jungle Book” uses dancers portraying animals to teach moral lessons while showcasing different customs and cultures around the world.   • Anyone thinking about joining the Katz JCC has a chance to check out the facility itself on Sunday as the JCC hosts an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are invited to learn about the many programs and services the JCC provides. New members who register at the open house can have the registration fee waived, a choice of a six-month spa membership upgrade or one month of their annual purchase, a coupon book and a free gift. Around South Jersey

  • Medford will be hosting a slew of events this weekend. Music lovers will want to check out the Pinelands Jazz Festival on Sunday at YMCA Camp Ockanickon, 1303 Stokes Road in Medford.   • Also in Medford this weekend is Taste of Medford and Oktoberfest. The festival will take place on Main Street from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.   • The annual Camden County Fair will take place this weekend at Camden County College in Gloucester Township. The event will include amusement rides, carnival games, food, 4-H displays and animals, and more. At the Jersey Shore

  • Sea Isle City is hosting its Fall Family Festival Weekend. On Saturday, there will be a seaside vendor craft market, food vendors, live music, children activities and amusement rides from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. On Sunday, there will be an auto antique car show on the Promenade. There will also be historical trolley tours led by members of the Sea Isle City Historical Society.   • The Emlen Physick Estate in Cape May is hosting its Harvest Brew Fest on Saturday at 1048 Washington Street. Try out craft beers while enjoying local food, entertainment and more.   • The 89th annual Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show will take place this weekend at Rittenhouse Square. More than 100 artists from across North America will display their work.
