Virtua employees who choose Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) for Health Sciences education will now receive increased tuition reimbursement benefits under a new preferred partner agreement.

Virtua is increasing tuition reimbursement benefits by 10 percent for employees who choose RCBC for their education, starting with the current fall semester. The benefits may be applied to tuition for associate degrees and both credit and noncredit certificates in multiple Health Sciences fields. The college is providing Burlington County tuition and fee rates to all Virtua employees in this program, regardless of their residency.

“With the rapid growth and constant improvement in healthcare, lifelong education is essential,” said Virtua President and CEO Richard P. Miller. “We are increasing benefits to employees who choose Rowan College at Burlington County because we know the quality of the college’s Health Sciences programs.

“RCBC students who work in our health network meet our high standards of quality and patient care and we encourage Virtua associates to take advantage of this excellent education in our community,” Miller said.

Virtua and RCBC have a longstanding partnership that expanded significantly this year with this preferred partner tuition reimbursement agreement and bringing Virtua’s Paramedic Science program — with more than 80 new students — to the college this semester. Virtua is the largest placement location for RCBC nursing and radiography students performing their clinical training.

The college’s Health Sciences program will have a state-of-the-art facility on the Mt. Laurel campus in fall 2017 as part of the college’s campus transformation plan. The college will also begin offering junior-year courses to nursing students in fall 2017 as part of the “3+1” option to Rowan University that allows students to earn 75 percent of a bachelor’s degree at RCBC’s tuition before completing the degree with Rowan University.

“Virtua is synonymous with high-quality healthcare throughout our region and we are thrilled to expand our partnership and work together toward making Rowan College at Burlington County the premier provider of healthcare education in our region,” RCBC President Paul Drayton said. “Our teams have worked throughout the summer on these and other initiatives that will lead to new and better Health Sciences offerings for both those looking to enter the field and those looking to build upon existing credentials.”

Employers interested in establishing similar preferred partnerships with the college may contact assistant director of business engagement Linda Bobo at lbobo@rcbc.edu or (856) 242–5258.
