Dan Levinson and his Tiger Tulip Jazz Band will perform traditional jazz at Tri-State Jazz Society’s concert at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Road, on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. The septet, led by Levinson, includes prolific musicians and the elegant vocals of Molly Ryan. Termed the “in-demand reed man” by Mississippi Rag, Dan is a member of Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks, has appeared at Carnegie Hall on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, played with Leon Redbone, and includes Mel Tormé, Wynton Marsalis and Dick Hyman on his roster of musical associates.
Half-price admission of $10, payable at the door, is available for first-time attendees and members; general admission is $20; full-time students with IDs and children are free. There are no advance sales or reservations. The church is about 15 minutes from central Philadelphia via the Ben Franklin Bridge and parking is free. PATCO is nearby.
