As if the Great Depression isn’t enough to worry about, Eugene Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager from Brooklyn, is searching for his identity as he deals with puberty, girls, family and the impending war. Enjoy Eugene’s witty life observations as he tries to figure out relationships and his quirky Polish-Jewish relatives this September at Haddonfield Plays and Players.

The semi-autobiographical comedic play is set in Brighton Beach, N.Y. during 1937 and the lowest point in America’s economic history. Fifteen-year-old Eugene tries to go about his life while dealing with the dysfunction of his cultural family. While encountering girls and having feelings he has never experienced before, the young man hopes he can find a place to fit in this crazy world.
