Members of the Medford Sunrise Rotary helped collect food and other items for an Operation Yellow Ribbon collection at two Murphy’s Market stores, one in Medford Lakes and one in Tabernacle, on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The Rotarians collected enough to fill about 20 boxes of goodies, which were mailed to the troops overseas through Operation Yellow Ribbon. The volunteers asked shoppers to donate items such as eye drops, foot powder, batteries, puzzles, shampoo, deodorant, Tasty Kakes, gum, nuts and more.

Care packages are sent to those in harm’s way in the Middle East. David Silver, the head of Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey and several volunteers from Operation Yellow Ribbon were also on hand to help.

The Medford Sunrise Rotary meets every Wednesday morning for breakfast at 7:15 a.m. at the Pop Shop in downtown Medford. New members are always welcome.
