The Haddonfield Lions Club will host its Beep Baseball Tournament from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 9 at Crows Woods Athletic Fields in Haddonfield.
These games give visually-impaired youth and adults a chance to play baseball and every year the Lions have hosted this, the participants have a wonderful time. The game uses standard softball bats and a ball that beeps.
Teams include the Philly Fire, New Jersey Lightening, New Jersey Titans, Long Island Bombers and Boston Renegades. Lions’ members will help the teams and present a donation to the Blind Sports Organization.
The National Beep Baseball Association started in 1976 and the game has skyrocketed in popularity since then. It was first played in the mid-1960’s.
