Haddonfield’s Independence Day Celebration is July 3 and 4

For Haddonfield’s Independence Day Celebration 2016 “Small Town America Celebrates the 4th ” is this year’s theme.

Fireworks will be held on Sunday, July 3 on the high school field, 401 Kings Highway East, between Sylvan Lake Avenue and Hopkins Lane. Only street parking is available.

Gates open at 7 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Donations will gladly be accepted at the gates. They can also be sent to P.O. Box 15, Haddonfield, N.J. 08033 or by credit card at the Information Center, 2 Kings Court or with Paypal using the Haddonfield Celebration’s website at www.haddonfieldcelebrations.org.

The fireworks display will begin at dusk, approximately 9:30 p.m.

Due to the installation of the turf field, blankets only will be allowed on the field, positively no chairs.

The rain date for fireworks only is Sunday, July 10.

Entertainment by the “Shore Thing” begins at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the Lions Club tent in the end zone. Hot dogs, pretzels and cold drinks will be sold. Mr. Softee will also be available.

There will be no outside vendors on the school grounds and smoking and pets are prohibited on all school property.

The 4th of July parade will be held on Monday, July 4. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Kings Highway at Chestnut Street.

Registration on Sunday, July 4 is available from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Assembly information can be obtained at the registration table at the rear of the Presbyterian Church driveway, 20 Kings Highway East.

Participation ribbons for all children participating in the parade will be given out during registration and/or lineup. This includes Baby Parade, Dress-Up Parade, and all bikes, trikes, big wheels and in-line skaters. Ribbons are also given to all children in groups being judged. Children riding must wear helmets and children may not use motorized or battery operated vehicles without an adult. Throwing candy or other items is restricted. Please pass out items by hand.

The Pick-Up Band will assemble behind the Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m.

Antique Autos Entrants need to report to Antique Auto Registration table after 10 a.m. Further information can be obtained from Frank Houston (856) 428–2702.

Parade winners will be announced and winner ribbons awarded at the high school immediately following the parade.

Free cold drinks will be available on the front lawn of the high school courtesy of the Lions Club. Hot dogs and pretzels will be available for purchase. There is no rain date for the parade.
