From sports clinics and leagues to visual and culinary arts for fall, the Recreation Nation is ready to go.

This fall Recreation Soccer will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 24 in full stride. Each year this soccer program geared toward youth, in grades kindergarten through eighth grade grows in participation. With more young people looking to enter the soccer world or extend their soccer playing years, the department offers opportunities for boys and girls alike to play in a competitive and fun atmosphere. The Moorestown Recreation Soccer Program has been recognized as the best recreation soccer program for children of varying age groups in South Jersey. Offering more and more children the opportunity to participate in this popular sport in a manageable and developmental atmosphere. The Recreation Department is pleased to offer soccer clinics as well that will focus on the development of fundamentals.

The Girls Field Hockey Program, both recreation and limited travel, offer young women entry into this growing, competitive sport. This league, led by Mary Stefano and her core group of committed, volunteer coaches will offer girls the fundamentals, developmental practices and intense scrimmage and league play. The clinics are available to girls third though sixth grade. Stefano’s expertise is a valued gem, having been inducted into the National Field Hockey Hall of Fame. Her years of playing, coaching and love of the sport is shared with every girl in the program.

Additional programs like Arts & Crafts and Adult and Child Cooking classes will fill the Recreation Building daily, offering young and old alike the opportunity tap into their creative sides. A youth basketball, pre-season clinic will be offered in the fall for those wanting to sharpen their skills prior to the season. This clinic will focus on developmental play and fundamentals that will benefit every player in grades three through nine. The Adult Co-Ed Soccer, Basketball and Badminton leagues are being prepared as are personal fitness classes like Tumblin’ Tots, Yoga and Boot Camp. Additionally, this year there will be Volleyball Clinic for grades six through nine and an Adult Co-Ed Sand Volleyball League.
