Haddonfield Friends School hosts summer camps

Haddonfield Friends School (HFS) is now registering for its popular themed summer camps for children in preschool through middle school. Details for the camps are available at www.HaddonfieldFriends.org.

New this year will be three special middle school workshops for students entering fourth through eighth grades in September. “Lego Robotics Camp,” “Engineers Wanted,” and “Creative Writing and Publishing” are weeklong programs and a few spots still remain.

For students ages 5 to 12, the summer camps begin on June 20 and run through Aug. 19. Parents can sign up their children for individual weeks or for the entire summer. Every week has a different theme, ranging from “Animal Planet” to “Camp Olympics” to “Octopus’ Garden.” Every Tuesday, the campers will enjoy pizza by the pool. The summer will be filled with activities and field trips.

For the little ones ages 2.5 to 5 years, there is a special four-week camp with half-day and full-day options. Teacher Maria Shivers will provide a Spanish cross-cultural experience that includes crafts, movement and music to the preschool and youth camps.

HFS alumni Justin Levy and Meghan McCormick will be on staff this summer. Also, HFS’s music teacher Anna Preston will teach youth campers how to play the ukulele. HFS new camp director Aaron Pollock’s email is SummerCamp@HaddonfieldFriends.org. See details and registration for summer camp at haddonfieldfriends.org/school_life/summer_programs.
