Evesham Police warning residents of possible attempted ‘distraction burglary’

EveshamPolice

On May 27 at 11 a.m., a male wearing a reflective safety vest posed as a “water department” employee and approached a woman at her home in the unit block of South Locust Ave.

The man told the woman that a water pipe was broken in the area and asked to check her water pressure inside her home.

The female wisely denied the male access, then a female approached the home also wearing safety vest.

Both subjects posing as employees of the water department were denied access to the home.

The Evesham Township Municipal Utilities Authority was contacted and it was confirmed that the suspect did not work for the township.

All Township MUA trucks contain highly visible markings and all employees wear clothing with Evesham MUA insignias.

The Evesham Police Department would like to remind all residents to contact the department immediately upon observing suspicious activity. The department can be contacted at (856) 983–1116, the Confidential Tip Line at (856) 983–4699 or email at Facebook@Eveshampd.org. Anonymous tips text ETPDTIP to 847411.
