Letters from the Pinelands Branch Library

Dear Friends,

Rain, rain go away — we have had too much in May! Memorial Day equals the summer kick off and warmer weather. We are ready!

Just because you may not have seen a specific date for the Pinelands Library book sales does not mean that we are not selling books. There is a book sale every day at the library just inside the front door in the vestibule. Gently read and loved books are offered at unbelievable prices, and there is something for everyone’s taste. There are mysteries, romances, history, cookbooks and children’s selections. There is even a limited number of freebies. Often at the checkout desk you will find a bundle of books by a favorite author for a special gift for a special reader.

Have you ever wanted to learn another language? The Burlington County Library System offers courses online. Just go to the website and click on their e-learning and resources button. You can study the usual romance languages of French, Spanish and Italian, or opt for something less familiar to Americans, but more used in other parts of the world such as Chinese, Hindi or Korean. If English is not your primary language, English as a Second Language is offered. There is even American Sign Language. Check it out!

Our Retirement Series continues on June 9 at 6 p.m. when Meiyoko Taylor from Wealth Bridge Advisory Services will be discussing Medicare, a vital component of one’s retirement. Topics will include enrollment periods, working with insurance companies and many more.

Don’t forget our May raffles are on display. The adult basket is a real “beauty” with hair care products and a free hair cut courtesy of Salon Pure. The children’s has all the fixings for s’mores, a book about the Space Shuttle and a Star Projector. You can enter until the end of the month.

Until next time, keep turning those pages! Or logging in!
