The Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble will be in concert at the First Baptist Church in Haddonfield on Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. The ensemble will transform 150 pounds of bronze into a visually and musically exciting performance entitled, “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.” Their wide range of styles and moods include well-known standards, original compositions, the classics and a splash of jazz. By combining various instruments with advanced ringing techniques, the ensemble moves beyond the traditional handbell sound.
For those who have heard the bells only at Christmastime, don’t miss this rare treat. A reception will follow. Suggested donation minimum is $5 per adult.
