Drive “FORE! A Good Cause,” the Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice annual golf tournament, presented by The Richardson Family Dealerships, will take place Monday, June 27.
The 18-hole scramble format tournament, held at Little Mill Country Club in Marlton, will have a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.
Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.
An awards reception and dinner will follow at 4:30 p.m.
Samaritan’s annual golf tournament has two important goals: to raise funds and to raise awareness.
“For the last 36 years, Samaritan’s not-for-profit mission and services have helped people in our community to live each day fully and with dignity, even as they cope with issues of aging, serious illness and grief,” said Samaritan president and CEO Mary Ann Boccolini. “Supporting our golf tournament helps us continue our proud tradition of providing hospice and palliative care and grief support services for those with no insurance or means to pay for these services.”
The tournament entrance fee of $295 includes continental breakfast, lunch, commemorative sports shirt, greens fees and cart, refreshments on the golf course, awards dinner reception, and player gift package.
The event features hole-in-one contests to win luxury automobiles and other prizes, mulligans, 50/50 raffles, a silent auction, and various individual and foursome awards.
In what has become another tradition, golfers are also encouraged to participate in the “Dress Loud Contest” by wearing the loudest golf ensembles their inhibitions permit.
Wearing their most colorful pants, hats or shirts (that still conform to Little Mill’s dress code) earns the right to vie for a trophy and bragging rights for the year.
The contest helps Samaritan “drive” home the message, loud and clear, that the not-for-profit’s Family of Services are here to serve all who need them.
