Registration for Alice Paul Institute summer leadership programs is underway.

“We’re excited about our teen programs this summer at the Institute,” said Kris Myers, the Alice Paul Institute’s program director. “And this year, we’re proud to launch a new partnership with Rowan College of Burlington County, where we will offer two Lead-A-Way programs for middle-school and high-school teens at their Mount Holly and Pemberton campuses.”

Alice Paul Professional Leadership Institute (APPLI) College and Careers four-day programs for girls of ages 14 through 18 take place Monday, June 27, through Thursday, June 30; Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14; and Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Paulsdale, 128 Hooten Road.

Each four-day program includes college campus and workplace visits to meet woman professionals at area companies. Girls participate in workshops on the college application process, interview skills, financing education, choosing the right (and realistic) school that match one’s goals, resume development and business etiquette.

The program includes a networking session with women from a variety of fields and interests.

A Lead-A-Way program for teens ages 11 to 14 takes place Mon., Aug. 1, through Friday, Aug. 5, and one for girls 15 through 18 takes place Mon., Aug. 15, through Friday, Aug. 19, at Rowan College of Burlington County.

Teens learn what great leaders are and the 12 leadership traits they embody. Through activities and team projects participants practice these skills, which include assertiveness, communication skills, collaborative teamwork and integrity.

The program includes a visit to Paulsdale, home of the Alice Paul Institute.
