Burlington County hosts paper shredding event March 6

Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced today that the first paper shredding event of 2016 will be held on Sunday, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex, 22,000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Florence.

“This popular event drew almost 900 residents in December, bringing in 13,000 pounds of documents for shredding,” said Director Garganio. “This is truly a great service, with volunteers on hand to unload the material for shredding while residents can remain in the comfort of their cars.”

Residents are urged to bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, bills with account numbers or social security numbers, to be shredded on-site. The county asks that residents NOT include binders, plastic folders, computer disks or credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.

This free event is for Burlington County residents only. ID is required. No businesses, please.
