Medford resident shares his Valentine’s Day love story

valentines day

Hey guys,

My wife and I just moved to Medford at the end of January. We met roughly three years ago. We had both just moved to Philadelphia. She was from New Jersey originally and I was from Montreal, Canada.

We met online, since neither of us knew many people in the city and we agreed to have our first date at a small bar in Manayunk. She was a little nervous about meeting a strange man from an online dating website, so she thought she’d be prudent and bring her pepper spray. She grabbed it and tossed it into her purse. Little did she know, the bottle had leaked a little bit and some had gotten onto her hand. Just before she left the house, she reached up and touched her own eye!

BURN! Her and her roommates spent the next 30 minutes frantically trying to figure out the best way to stop the burning, fix the makeup and then make sure it didn’t look like she had just spent the last 30 minutes in tears! Thank you internet! It was October and a little chilly out, so when she showed up, her cheeks were flush and I was none the wiser.

We hit it off right away. I knew she was going to be the woman I married after about a month (it took her a bit longer). And before long, this happened:
