Dear Friends,

Let it snow! The frigid temperatures and recent falling flakes of white have certainly let us know that winter is upon us.

Are you aware of the many services provided by or at the library in addition to books and DVDs? There is a meeting room available for your organization to use free of charge. You only need call the library to schedule the time. Your group can also use our 60” television with DVD/Blue Ray player or connect to the Internet. Some groups already using the room are Girl Scout groups, an HOA board, knitting and hobby groups and more.

Speaking of knitting and hobby groups, are you an artist or photographer who wants to display your work? The library has space available on a monthly basis for your personal show. If you are a crafter of jewelry or pottery, share your talents by exhibiting them at the library. Come share your gifts with others. The best news is that once again the space is free.

Our staff will be happy to help you with other services. If you need copies made, they are available in both black and white and color. If you do not have a fax machine, that can also be done for you at the library. Both these services incur small fees.

Here is an update on the Mini-Make Tech Camp. The date and time have been changed to Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. Encourage your children’s interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) through a variety of play and experimental activities. Available projects include Makey Makey kits, Straws and Connectors and Marble Run Kits. Check out https://youtu.be/rfQqh7iCcOU to view examples.

Something new for February is our Winter Library Challenge. Stop by the library to pick up a game board. Complete the challenges and return the game board to the Pinelands Library for a chance to win a prize! The Winter Library Challenges will take place from Feb. 1 to 29. Completed game boards returned by March 1 will be entered
into a drawing for a chance to win a prize.

Until next time, keep turning those pages and stay warm.
