Cherry Hill East open after threatening text message sent out over the weekend

Class is in session at Cherry Hill High School East this morning after a text message threat against the school circulated around social media over the weekend.

Cherry Hill Public Schools and the Cherry Hill Police Department confirmed a threat had made against the school on Sunday night. According to police, a threatening text message had been circulating around social media in recent days. Police traced the origin of the text and charged a juvenile with one count of making a false public alarm. The juvenile’s identity has not been revealed.

Both district officials and the police department said there would be increased police patrols at Cherry Hill East today.
