Students at Chesterbrook Academy preschool in Moorestown organized a donation drive in December to collect coats and winter gear to help people of all ages in need stay warm this winter. Students collected more than 100 items, including coats, scarves, gloves, hats and snowsuits in support of organization One Warm Coat. The items will be delivered to Restore Church in Maryland, where they will then be distributed to residents in need.

One Warm Coat is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide anyone in need with a warm coat, free of charge. For additional information, visit www.onewarmcoat.org.

Chesterbrook Academy preschool in Moorestown will host an open house on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity for families to meet the school principal, teachers and current students, explore classrooms, and learn more about Chesterbrook Academy’s signature Links to Learning curriculum, which is a preschool-specific curriculum complete with monthly developmental skill summaries that closely involve parents. The goals of the program are to provide a high-caliber, developmentally appropriate education within the classroom, to enhance dialogue with parents, and to provide constructive guidance on how parents can become more involved with their children’s education through at-home activities that reinforce what’s being learned at school.

All children who attend the open house will also have the opportunity to receive safety tips and a free identification card, courtesy of New York Life Insurance Company. The identification card includes the child’s photo, digital fingerprints and other vital information.

Chesterbrook Academy offers many activities during the week for students, including karate, gymnastics, dance and other sports. Students ages 3 years and older have access to the latest technology in classrooms, including computers and iPads. Chesterbrook Academy’s campus features a large outdoor play area for sports and other activities.
