Perhaps I didn’t care for this because I had a difficult time understanding the dialect. Or perhaps it was way too long. Or perhaps the storyline was bizarre. But no matter how I approach it I didn’t like it. But then I’m not usually a fan of Spike Lee
Phil: Don’t Even Rent It
Interesting, but too long! Best described as a “rap movie” , this film ( with almost every black actor having a part ) takes on a serious subject-gang violence in Chicago. Part mockumentary , part dialogue , the film points out the seriousness of the problem in the inner cities.
Still, as a film it leaves much to be desired.
