Carol: Worth the Matinee Price

Based on the true story of the notorious identical twin brothers who “ruled” the East End of London mob in the 1960’s. Tom Hardy did an outstanding job playing both brothers. Told from the point of view of Francis, Reggie Kray’s love interest, the story is sometimes sweet but always violent.

Phil: Wait for the Video

Based on the true story of twin brothers from London who essentially took over the crime syndicate in the East End during the 60’s. An otherwise mundane crime drama made interesting by Tom Hardy’s portrayal of both brothers.

Carol: Must See Now

I’m a huge Rocky fan and this did not disappoint one bit. Sylvester Stallone who epitomizes the Rocky movies is excellent in his “new role” and Michel B. Jordan is just fun to watch. Don’t miss this if you are a Philadelphian or wish you were.

Phil: Must See Now

I wasn’t expecting much for this especially after the last of the “Rocky” series. What a surprise! Both the young actor (Michael B. Jordan) and the veteran (Sylvester Stallone) out do themselves. My memory says this is almost as good as the original; almost.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2 (Rated: PG-13)

Carol: Don’t Even Rent It

Disappointing final chapter. Cinematography and special effects were weak and, of course, just using the final chapters of a book for a 2 hour movie wasn’t successful. Too much filler- not enough content.

Phil: Wait for the Video

Perhaps the worst of the series. Little in way of storyline; obviously no character development. The end sequel, none too soon.
