Vehicle stop by Evesham Police leads to shoplifting and drug arrests

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Nov. 18, at 11:58 p.m., Evesham Police officers responded to the Walmart Store, 150 East Route 70 for two males that shoplifted more than $1200 worth of merchandise and fled in a vehicle.

An officer conducting traffic enforcement in the DDACTS Zone observed and stopped a vehicle matching the description given by loss prevention.

During the investigation the officer located the stolen merchandise along with drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested and all stolen merchandise was returned to the store.

Arrested:

A male, age 24, of Woodbury, was charged with third degree shoplifting and a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $10,000 bail.

A male, age 24, of Bridgeton, was charged with a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.
