This Friday, Nov. 13 is World Kindness Day, sponsored by The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
We all know Moorestown as a special place. Did you know that our town has celebrated Kindness Week during the week of Valentine’s Day every year since 1996? In recognition of the 20th anniversary of this commitment, Mayor Victoria Napolitano has declared a Kindness Year in our community.
As part of this focus, a book discussion group is meeting at the Moorestown Library from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month, for 18 months, through February 2017. At each meeting, the group discusses one of the 18 qualities of Kindness from the book, “The Power of Kindness, The Surprising Benefits of Leacing a Compasssionate Life,” by Piero Ferrucci.
November’s topic is Gratitude, a fitting focus for the month we celebrate Thanksgiving. The December topic is Generosity. A Kindness Display with additional information can be found in the reading/magazine area of the Library.
Members of the discussion group are grateful for the Moorestown Business Association’s Annual Candle Light Night on Nov. 6. The community spirit and pleasant weather brought many kind people out. Kindness Wheels were shared and 44 people spontaneously signed their names pledging themselves as Ambassadors of Kindness !
