Officers arrived within minutes and determined the rear door to the residence was forced open. A perimeter was established and as the K-9 unit was making entry, a male exited another rear door and surrendered. It was determined that the male had just committed a residential burglary and property belonging to the homeowner was found at the rear door.

The suspect, a 50-year-old man from Hadleigh Drive in Cherry Hill, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Through continued investigation, he was charged with committing three additional burglaries in Cherry Hill Township. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail in default of $15,000 full cash bail.

Police credit the witness who was an integral part in the successful apprehension of a burglary suspect. Members of the community are encouraged to report any type of suspicious activity by calling police dispatch at (856) 665–1200. Confidential tips may also be emailed to tips@cherryhillpolice.com.
