Shoplifting, drug arrests and iPhone theft lead Mt. Laurel Police Report this week

During the overnight hours of Sept. 13 into Sept. 14 someone attempted to forcibly enter the rear door of the Dollar Tree, 3115 Route 38. The rear door was damaged but entry was not gained.

On Sept. 15 at 3:30 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 36, of Lumberton, for attempting to steal $264 worth of merchandise from the store. She was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

On Sept. 16 at 10:05 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Marter Avenue. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 24, a male, age 23, and a 16 year old male all from Vineland. The 24-year-old male was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 23-year-old male and the juvenile were both charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. All were released pending a court hearing.

On Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Mount Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. During the investigation officers arrested a male, age 24, of Mount Holly, for attempting to steal $63 worth of merchandise. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

An employee of Roger’s Walk Apartments reported that two air-condition units were damaged and copper tubing was stolen between Sept. 16 and Sept. 17. The total loss was approximately $5000

On Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. a suspect used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase two cups of coffee. He took the change and left the coffee.

An employee of the Hair Cuttery on Union Mill Road reported that on Sept. 21 a customer left the store without paying a $75 bill.

On Sept 22 at 1:40 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 at Marter Avenue. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 20, of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.

On Sept. 23 at 5:35 p.m. a victim contacted the Mt. Laurel Police and stated that his iPhone was stolen in Medford on Sept. 21. He was contacted by the suspected thief who offered to meet the victim at the Centerton Road shopping center in Mt. Laurel and sell him his phone back. An undercover Mt. Laurel Police Officer posed as the victim and met the suspect at the shopping center. A male, age 19, of Philadelphia, was arrested after he produced the phone. The male was charged with receiving stolen property and released pending a court hearing. The phone was returned to the victim

On Sept. 24 Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. As a result of the investigation officers arrested a male, age 32, of Maple Shade for stealing $117 worth of merchandise and a female, age 28, of Maple Shade for stealing $140 worth of merchandise. The female was also charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and prescription medication not prescribed to her. They were both released pending a court hearing.

On Sept. 24 between 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. someone broke a window on a vehicle parked at Laurel Acres Park and stole a purse that was in the vehicle. The purse contained cash and credit cards. The suspect may have been driving a white Ford pickup truck with tinted windows.
