Cherry Hill Public Library’s annual Volunteer Fair set for Oct. 4

The Cherry Hill Public Library will partner with nearly 30 local non-profit and community organizations to offer a Volunteer Fair on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Public Library. The Volunteer Fair is free and open to community members of all ages and interests.

The fair is an opportunity for groups seeking new volunteers to come together and inform the public about their services and the different opportunities available to become involved and help support their cause.

“We have found there are many community-minded people, including students, who want to volunteer their time to a worthy cause, but don’t know where to start,” said Laverne Mann, library director. “It makes sense for the library to be a hub for people looking to help out in their community.”

This is the tenth year the Cherry Hill Public Library has hosted a Volunteer Fair. Some of the groups that will have representatives and information at the fair include the Animal Welfare Association, Voorhees Pediatric Facility, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Horticultural Society of South Jersey. To view a full list of participating organizations, visit www.chplnj.org.

At the event, the library will collect donations for animals in need such as pet food, cat litter, sheets, towels, blankets, toys and more. All donations will benefit the Animal Welfare Association.

The Volunteer Fair is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the director of public relations and special events, Katie Hardesty at (856) 903–1207 or the library’s volunteer coordinator, Meredith Meyer, at (856) 903–1234.
