Young authors sign book “Death of a Pharaoh” at Inkwood Books Sept. 26

Cherry Hill student Michael Geisinger has just published his first book, “Death of a Pharaoh.”

“Death of a Pharaoh” is a fast paced adventure story written for middle grade readers, grades third through sixth.

The story is about Sam and Roger, orphaned brothers, who are adopted by a mysterious dog-faced man who sweeps them across time to ancient Egypt, where they have to solve the murder of Thutmoses II, a pharaoh who died under mysterious circumstances. As the case deepens into a chaotic power struggle among the Egyptian gods, the boys will have to overcome a murderous god with a seriously evil alter-ego; a malicious fire demoness with an army of serpentine warriors; and a horde of deadly sphinx to complete their quest. The fate of all humanity hangs in the balance!

Michael wrote the book when he was 13-years-old with the help of his friend and fellow Cherry Hill student, Jack Granite.

“I love Egyptian mythology and writing stories so the idea to combine the two in a novel was a natural fit for me. After two years of writing, editing and more editing, I am so happy to finally have my book published,” said Michael.

Michael and Jack will be at Inkwood Books in Haddonfield on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. signing books and sharing their experiences. Aspiring young writers and readers are urged to come and meet Michael and Jack, learn about writing a novel, get a book signed and enjoy some cookies, juice and other refreshments.

Inkwood Books is located at 31 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield.

If you can’t make it on the Sept. 26, Michael will be signing books at the Collingswood Book Festival on Oct. 3. “Death of a Pharaoh” is also available on Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com
