Virtua.org was selected as a winner in the 17th annual Digital Health AwardsSM program. This competition, which is held twice each year in the spring and fall, recognizes the world’s best digital health resources. Virtua.org received a Gold Award for website design.

“We were excited to participate in the 2015 Digital Health Awards competition, and we are honored to be selected as a winner,” said John Martino, Director of Digital Marketing at Virtua. “Our winning entry was chosen from nearly 600 entries judged by a panel of distinguished experts in digital health media.”

Virtua’s redesigned website offers a number of new benefits for online visitors. The most notable is the responsive site design which enables individuals to more easily view articles, videos, services, locations and other information on their smart phones and other mobile devices. An improved organization of content means visitors can locate what they need and navigate the site more intuitively. These enhancements and much more provide the end-user with a more cohesive and enjoyable experience.

The Digital Health AwardsSM competition also bestowed a Merit Award to Virtua’s e-newsletter, vHealthHIGHWAY. This recognition follows the publication’s honor of a Gold Medal in the 2015 Aster Awards, a national awards program dedicated to recognizing excellence in healthcare marketing.

The Digital Health AwardsSM program is organized by the Health Information Resource CenterSM (HIRC), a national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields.

Other well-known HIRC programs include the annual National Health Information AwardsSM, (healthawards.com) which annually recognizes the nation’s best consumer health programs and materials (for non-digital resources), and two national “Fitness Day” events.
