The 200 Club of Burlington County will hold its 14thannual Prayer Breakfast on Friday Sept. 11, at the Trinity EpiscopalChurch at the corner of West Main and Church streets in Moorestown.
The service pays tribute to those who died during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and also honors those who responded during the tragedy and throughout the aftermath. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Maple Shade Police Chief Gary Gubbei, who presently serves as president of the 200 Club of Burlington County, emphasized that the service is held not only for law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services workers, but also for members of the general public.
Gubbei said all are encouraged to attend.
This year’s guest speaker will be the Hon. Robert D. Bernardi, Burlington County Prosecutor, who will talk about the importance of keeping the events of 9/11 in the forefront of the nation’s consciousness.
Prosecutor Bernardi, who was sworn in to his first term in June 1999, co-chairs the Burlington County Anti-Terrorism Task Force.
He is a past President of the County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey and presently serves as the New Jersey State Director to the National District Attorneys Association.
Prosecutor Bernardi is a Commissioner of the New Jersey Police Training Commission and is also a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Criminal Practice.
He previously served on the New Jersey Commission to Review Criminal Sentencing and is a member of the Local Executive Board of the New Jersey Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory.
The 9/11 service will be overseen by the Rev. Philip W. Stowell, the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church who serves as the 200 Club chaplain.
A catered breakfast will follow the service in the church’s community hall.
Parking can be found in the public parking lots on West Second Street.
Founded in 1990, the 200 Club of Burlington County is a non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers with a mission of providing financial assistance to the families of fallen or injured members of the New Jersey State Police, county and municipal law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical services who serve the citizens of Burlington County.
The club also supports these public service professionals through scholarships, advanced training grants and recognition awards that are bestowed at an annual dinner.
