Serious motor vehicle accident in Medford Township

MedfordPolice

Medford Township Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at Church Road and Eayrestown Road. Just prior to the crash, a man was operating a silver 2013 Nissan Altima north on Eayrestown Road and was making a left onto Church Road when another man was west on Church Road and just entered the intersection of Eayrestown Road. The vehicles collided in a broadside fashion within the intersection. The force of the collision pushed both vehicles northward where the other drive’s vehicle sustained a secondary head on impact with a utility pole. The collision crushed the driver’s door pinning the man operating the Nissan Altima in his vehicle, which caused injury to his left lower leg. The man operating the Nissan Altima also complained of chest pain and was transported by Medford EMS to Virtua in Marlton for treatment. Initially, the other driver sustained a laceration to his head and complained of right hand pain but after further medical evaluation it was determined that the other driver needed to be airlifted to Cooper Trauma for a possible head injury. NJSP Southstar helicopter responded and flew the other driver to Cooper for treatment. At this time, motor vehicle charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
