DWI arrests lead Mt. Laurel Police Blotter this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On Aug. 22 at 9:30 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Interstate-295. During the stop officers arrested 28-year-old man from Pennsauken. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Aug. 23 at 2:50 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on North Lake Drive near Union Mill Road. During the stop officers arrested a 58-year-old man from Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Aug. 21 at 2:40 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road near Academy Drive. During the stop officers arrested a 43-year-old man from Evesham. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

An employee of Nelson Tree Service reported damaged two of their trucks that were parked on West Park Drive between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17. The suspect pried open two compartments that usually contain tools however, the company does not leave tools in the parked trucks.

On Aug. 17 at 11:15 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. Officers arrested a store employee, 19, from Burlington. Over the course of several weeks, the employee stole $574 worth of grass seed and then returned it to the store for a cash refund. He was charged with shoplifting with bail set at $5,000 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Aug. 17 at 9:35 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Fellowship Road near Route 73. During the stop officers arrested a 21-year-old man from Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Aug. 18 at 11:20 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into a suspicious vehicle on Abington Road. During the investigation officers arrested an 18-year-old woman from Moorestown. She was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a court hearing.

On Aug. 19 at 2 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Dearborn Circle near Briggs Road. During the stop officers arrested a 39-year-old woman from Maple Shade after she provided a false name in an attempt to avoid being arrested for an outstanding warrant. She was charged with hindering her own apprehension and released after satisfying the warrant.

Counterfeit $100 bills were used at a restaurant on Centerton Road and another on Dearborn Circle. One event took place on Aug. 14 and the second on Aug. 21. The suspect was described as an African-American female, five-feet three-inches tall, medium build, 20 to 30 years old and dark hair with blond twists throughout.

On Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. Mount Laurel Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Gloucester City. He was identified as the suspect who committed a shoplifting at The Home Depot on Nixon Drive on May 14. He fled the store after he committed the offense but was later identified through investigation and a warrant for his arrest was issued. Bail was set at $2,500 and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
