What happened to Main Street?

My husband and I moved into our condo 11 years ago.

The residential and commercial lifestyle center started here was a concept ahead of its time. Though this Voorhees Gem had suffered some loses there still was a lively community with 3 restaurants, a gym, spa and a community center.

Somewhere along the way we got lost in the Brandywine Trust “shuffle”. The community center became offices leased by Cooper Hospital. Cooper has taken over much of the campus.

The large Plaza 1000 building is almost completely empty. No lunch crowd-no more restaurants, spa or gym. The construction of Main Street is over 20 years old and requires a lot of repair and maintenance.

The bridges connecting the Promenade condos are currently being repaired, which will help revive the charm of the promenade.

The South Garage Bridge is in disrepair and is Brandywine Trust’s responsibility.

I have to say dealing with BWT has been costly and frustrating. They have made it abundantly clear they have no concern for our homes and the loss of value incurred by the changes in our community.

As a taxpayer and a resident of Voorhees I find it very hard to imagine a way to make this place shine again without the cooperation of Brandywine Trust.

Sadly Signed

Susan Cram, RDH
