Haddonfield Police Reports for July 5 through July 7

On July 7, a complainant reported receiving a telephone call from a male claiming to be her grandson. The male stated that he was under arrest and needed bail money wired to Tampa, Fla. The complainant went to the Haddonfield CVS to purchase a money card, however an alert CVS employee contacted a relative and it was discovered to be a fraud attempt. There was no loss in the matter. The complainant was advised to contact the Haddon Heights Township Police Department as the call was received in that jurisdiction.

On July 6, at the Centre Street 100 Block an American flag was reportedly stolen from a front porch.

On July 6, a caller reported a bicycle stolen from Haddonfield Memorial High School between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The bicycle was a black electra cruiser.

A victim reported that he is a contractor working on a property of Farwood Road that is under construction. He reported sometime over night between July 6 and 7 that an unknown person(s) forced entry to the rear door and stole tools.

On July 6, a victim reported that he had a voicemail from July 5 of a woman claiming to be Monica Falston from the Department of Legal Affairs. The subject reported the complainant would be facing legal action from the Internal Revenue Service and requested a call at (786) 738–6928. He returned the call and after speaking to a male asking for his lawyer’s information he recognized it as a scam. No information was given and he ended the call. Both subjects were described to have heavy European accents.

On July 5, a report of a vehicle into a parked car, the driver, a man from Philadelphia, was intoxicated and failed a sobriety test. The defendant was arrested and transported to JFK Hospital by Haddonfield ambulance. He was charged with a DWI.
