The Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to have so many partners within the Moorestown community. There are many businesses within the community that contribute to the success of the department’s many programs and facilities. TTI Environmental, Inc. is one such company. TTI Environmental Inc., headquartered on Church Street in Moorestown, organized and participated in a community garden and park cleanup project on Friday, May 22. Twelve employee volunteers set out to clean up the recreational and play areas at Wesley Bishop Park and to revitalize the park’s entrance garden.

TTI’s idea to give back to the community was spurred by the company celebrating their 30th anniversary this past May. Originally located in Marlton, TTI moved to their 1253 North Church Street location, directly across from the Wesley Bishop Park, in 2006. In appreciation of being a part of the Moorestown community, continued business growth and in keeping with their environmental focus, TTI felt it was fitting to help out the town with something (almost) in their front yard. The garden area at the Wesley Bishop sign was cultivated and the shape redefined. In harmony with a few existing shrubs, TTI’s green team added new plantings and the garden was finished with thick layer of black licorice mulch for plant protection and aesthetics. Volunteers also walked the sports campus picking up trash and debris to clean up the play fields and playground areas. Due to the diligence and environmental project expertise of the volunteers, the Wesley Bishop park project was completed in a few hours, at no cost to the township. It was a rewarding experience that enhanced one of Moorestown’s recreational centers and promoted an enthusiastic amount of group synergy, a passion for the environment and a sense of community among TTI employees.
