Cherry Hill Public Library to cover murder mystery case of Lizzie Borden on Aug. 4

Join the Cherry Hill Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. and uncover the mysterious murder cases and psychological state of Lizzie Borden.

More than a century ago, Lizzie Borden was accused and acquitted in the brutal ax murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Mass. Though the events occurred in 1892, no one was ever charged for the murders and speculations about the crimes continue to linger to this day.

Kate Butler, lecturer and living history reenactor, reprises the role of Lizzie Borden in a performance disclosing little known facts of the cases and an insight into Borden’s psychological state.

By the time the program is over, audience members must decide if Lizzie was innocent of these crimes more than a century ago.

This event is open and free to the public but recommended for those ages 18 and up. For more information, contact Katie Hardesty at khardesty@chplnj.org or (856) 903–1207.
