Crossroads of the American Revolution Association has announced the election of Mt. Laurel resident William J. Castner, Jr. to its board of trustees. Crossroads is the non-profit organization responsible for the management of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area, which connects the people and places of New Jersey’s rich Revolutionary heritage to inspire community pride, stewardship and civic engagement.

“We’re tremendously fortunate to have attracted several dynamic business and community leaders in New Jersey who bring passion, energy and expertise to the Crossroads board,” said Patrick Murray, president of the Crossroads board of trustees. “Bill Castner is among the state’s most influential and respected voices, and I’m confident his counsel will serve us well.”

Castner is chair of Government Affairs at Gibbons P.C. and was named one of the 40 Leaders of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal. His extensive public sector experience includes tenure as chief counsel to the Governor of New Jersey and general counsel and executive director of the New Jersey General Assembly Majority Office.

“Though many New Jerseyans may not be aware of it, our state’s Revolutionary War heritage represents one of our greatest tourist attractions, with great potential to attract significant visitor dollars,” said Castner. “I’m proud to lend my support to Crossroads as the organization works to capitalize on that potential while building pride of place with state residents.”

Castner is one of five new trustees elected to the Crossroads board. The others include Dale Florio, managing director of Princeton Public Affairs Group, Ira Jersey, head of U.S. Interest Rate Strategy at Credit Suisse, Sally Lane, director of special projects, office of the president, Thomas Edison State College; and Milly Silva, executive vice president of 1199 United Healthcare Workers East, SEIU.
