Downtown Haddonfield hosted its first Service Appreciation Day, which honored active and veteran military personnel, the Haddonfield Police Department, Haddonfield Auxiliary Police, the Haddon Fire Company №1 and American Legion Post #38.
Service members in attendance were treated to a 20 percent discount on Haddonfield town-wide gift certificates. There was face painting, a balloon artist, live music by QUARTET 33 and tunes by DJ Frank Staff, and Dietz & Watson generously provided free hotdogs during the festivities.
The Liberty United Service Organization (USO) also took part in Service Appreciation Day by placing donation jars throughout the town. Attendees and customers were generous in their giving, and their donations will help support the USO’s mission to provide for military families in need.
“This was our way of saying thank you to our service men and women for all they have done,” said Remi Fortunato, Retail Recruiter for the Partnership for Haddonfield. “This afternoon of camaraderie could not have been better,” she added.
