DUI, theft reports top this week’s Mt. Laurel Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On May 21 at 1 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Fostertown Road. During the stop officers arrested a 28-year-old man from Southampton. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On May 23 at 1:15 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near the New Jersey Turnpike. During the stop officers arrested a 39-year-old man from Burlington. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On May 23 at 1:40 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Marne Highway near Hartford Road. During the stop officers arrested a 40-year-old man from Cinnaminson. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On May 23 at 1:55 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Gaither Drive near South Church Street. During the stop officers arrested a 44-year-old woman from Mt. Laurel. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On May 22 at noon, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a suspicious person investigation on the 1000 block of Nixon Drive. During the investigation officers arrested a 25-year-old woman from Trenton for warrants out of Burlington and Camden Counties. She was also found in possession of prescription narcotics. She was charged with possession of prescription medication and committed to the Burlington County Corrections and Work Release Center for the outstanding warrants.

On May 23 at 3:35 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the 2100 block of Gramercy Way for the report of an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed that the 24-year-old female victim saw a group of four males walking on the sidewalk by her residence. As she approached the front door of her residence one of the males ran up behind her and grabbed her purse. The victim refused to let go of the purse and kicked at the suspect. The suspect let go of the purse and fled towards Coventry Way. The other three males in the group ran off during the robbery attempt. All four were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.

On May 25 at 2:40 a.m., Mount Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Church Road. During the stop officers arrested a 27-year-old woman from Voorhees. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

A resident on the 3000 block of Marne Highway reported that someone stole a package from the front porch of the residence after it had been delivered by UPS on May 11.

An employee of a business at 824 East Gate Drive reported someone stole her Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet valued at $175 on May 26. The tablet had been left unattended in a common area in the building.

A resident on the 100 block of Briarwood Road reported someone stole his 2010 Franklin carry-on trailer valued at $700 dollars between May 23 and May 25. The trailer had been parked on the roadway in front of the residence and is described as all black with plywood siding, 4-feet by 8-feet, bearing Pennsylvania registration XJG7942.

Between May 23 and May 25, someone stole four catalytic converters from trucks parked at a business on Roland Avenue. The catalytic converters are valued at $1,000 each.

A resident on the 100 block of Ramblewood Parkway reported that someone stole a capacitor from their outside air conditioning unit on May 25.

A victim reported that on May 26 at approximately 7 p.m. someone stole a Samsung Galaxy Alpha cell phone from a backpack left unattended near the basketball courts at 291 Larchmont Boulevard.

The owner of a vacant business on the 3100 block of Route 38 reported copper plumbing was stolen from the interior of his building within the last two weeks.

A resident on the 100 block of Texas Avenue reported someone stole two outboard boat engines from his yard on May 27. One engine was a Yamaha 125 two-stroke spray painted blue. The other was a grey Mercury. Three suspects in this theft loaded the engines into two separate pick-up trucks. One truck was a newer model white Ford F-150 pickup with a large mechanical box strapped into the bed. The second was a newer model black Toyota Tundra with large silver ladder racks.

A resident of Ericson Court reported that someone scratched his vehicle with a sharp object between 11 p.m. on May 28 and 10:30 a.m. on May 29.

A resident of the 200 block of Charing Way reported that someone dented and scratched their vehicle within the past two weeks.

An employee of the AT&T store on Nixon Drive reported that a suspect stole a Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 from the display rack between 6:40 and 6:55 p.m. on May 30. The suspect was described as a man with short hair in a white t-shirt with blue jeans, a beard and an athletic build.

On May 31st at 4:15 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road near Academy Drive. During the stop officers arrested a 33-year-old man from Medford. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

An employee of the Lukoil gas station on Route 38 reported that a woman in a red Toyota SUV intentionally drove away from the fuel pump with the fuel nozzle still in the vehicle causing damage to the pump.

On June 1 at 4 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to Attitudes Salon at 1200 South Church Street for an activated burglar alarm. Arriving officers discovered the front window of the business had been broken out. The investigation determined that the suspect stole an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.
