Third Thursdays and Medford Market Day

The Main Street Medford businesses are finalizing plans for the return of “Third Thursdays”; which will be held starting on May 21 through the month of December. Most of the retail shops and restaurants, as well as the Medford Arts Center (MAC) will remain open until 8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the spring weather strolling Main Street and stopping in many of the new businesses, which will have special promotions each month during the “Third Thursday” activities.

Some of the entertainment lined up is being provided by students of the NJ School of Music, the South Jersey Music Education Partnership, the Medford School of Music, the School of Rock, and the Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.

In addition, the MAC will be hosting its inaugural “Avante Garde Night” featuring young artists, musicians and poets in an open jam forum.

Free admission to all. Artists should bring their instruments, brushes, paints or sketchbooks.

Medford Market Day is dedicated to the support, growth and shared success of a vibrant, exciting and thriving shopping experience for the greater Medford area community. On every Saturday beginning on June 13, street vendors representing independently owned businesses selling original and hand crafted items, foods, and services will have displays along Main Street to sell their products. Area residents have expressed their wishes to be able to locally purchase natural and organic foods, honey, candles, soaps, etc., as well as other unique and specialty items such as jewelry, fine arts and crafts.

As this is typically the busiest day of the week for both the retailers and restaurants, visitors will be treated to an enhanced shopping experience with the added market vendors, who will be scattered along Main Street from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., weather permitting. Music, entertainment, artist displays and other festivities will also be provided by locally based entertainers. Those wishing to vend or perform should email [email protected].

Medford Village is the heart of Medford Township, and contains a wealth of historic homes, quaint and distinct businesses, government and civic buildings, and parks. The Medford Main Street initiative follows the National Main Street Program, and is a partnership of Medford Township and its Economic Development Commission, the Medford Business Association, and most importantly the many business owners with the shared goal of running a profitable business and preserving Historic Medford Village.

The Medford Main Street program also represents the interest of like-minded residents and civic associations who want to keep the Village a safe, friendly, and viable community. For example, the flower baskets just returned to the lampposts along Main Street as a project undertaken by the Women’s Club of Medford.

The Main Street Medford businesses remind visitors that these events are free. Parking is plentiful and also free. For additional information on these activities, visit and like their Facebook page at MedfordMarketDay.
