Mt. Laurel man killed while crossing Route 73 on May 3

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

A Mt. Laurel man was killed on the night of May 3 after a vehicle struck him as he tried to cross Route 73 near Rogers Walk.

The accident took place at about 8:20 p.m. on May 3. According to the Mt. Laurel Police Traffic Bureau’s preliminary investigation, a pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old Warren Coleman of Mt. Laurel, was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Route 73 against a red traffic signal when a vehicle hit him. Coleman was transported to JFK Hospital in Cherry Hill, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, who police did not identify, sustained minor injuries during the accident. He was transported to Virtua Hospital in Marlton and released. Police have not filed charges against the driver.

The police department is still conducting a full investigation of the accident. Anyone with information concerning the crash is asked to contact the police department’s traffic bureau at (856) 234–1414 ext. 1565.
