The Cooper Foundation in partnership with the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation and the Ravitz Family Foundation celebrated the opening of the newly created Teen Lounge at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper on Wednesday, April 29.

The lounge will provide a space where adolescent patients can relax, watch movies, play video games, access computers and socialize with others their own age, helping them to escape the rigors of their hospital stay and isolation.

The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper treats approximately 500 adolescent patients annually, with 25 percent of those patients facing a life-threatening illness.

The Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation (ARVF) is a non- profit organization which provides activities, programs and events that enhance the quality of life for teens with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Since its inception, ARVF has successfully partnered with 99 children’s hospitals in 37 states throughout the country, funding 62 Teen Lounges and providing over 12,000 Teen Kits to critically-ill children.
