Liquor store theft, drug arrests top Mt. Laurel Police Blotter this week.

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

An employee of Laurel Liquors, 3214 Route 38, reported that at 2:50 p.m. on April 28 two suspects stole six bottles of vodka with a total value of $377.94. The theft was discovered after the suspects left the store. The suspects left in a dark gray colored late model Ford Fusion.

On April 27 at 5:40 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Fellowship Road for the report of subjects refusing to pay a taxi fare. During the investigation officers arrested a 24-year-old man from Philadelphia when they observed drugs in his open bag. He was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine. He was released after posting 10 percent of $3,000 bail. A second subject, a 25-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was also arrested after she provided police with a false name in order to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant. She was also found in possession of drugs. She was charged with hindering her own apprehension and possession of cocaine. She was released after posting $500 bail for the outstanding warrant.

A resident on the first block of Conestoga Lane reported that an ornamental wishing well was stolen from his front yard between April 27 and April 28. The well was described as red and blue, approximately 4 feet tall, constructed of wood, octagonal, with a gray slate roof, and weighed over 150 pounds.

A van belonging to Community Options Inc. had its windshield broken with a baseball bat while it was parked on Stratford Lane sometime between April 21and April 28.

On April 29 at 1:20 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police located a suspicious person walking on the 3200 block of Marne Highway. During the investigation officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Newark. He was wanted out of Easton, Pa. for receiving stolen property. During the arrest he was found in possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and possession of marijuana. Bail was set at $5,000 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On April 29, an employee of Wegman’s reported a shoplifting that occurred on April 15 at noon. A suspect stole $300 worth of teeth whitening strips.

An employee of a business at 3111 Route 38 reported that her purse was stolen from her work area sometime between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. on April 28.

On April 30 at 11:45 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of 555 Fellowship Road as part of an investigation into a large fight reported at a nearby hotel. During the stop a pedestrian, who was not connected to the investigation, approached the officers and interfered with the vehicle stop. He refused to leave and was arrested. The suspect, a 42-year-old man from Mt. Laurel, was charged with obstructing the administration of law and released pending a court hearing.

On April 30 at 10:15 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police located an occupied suspicious vehicle on the 100 block of Willow Turn. During the investigation officers arrested an 18-year-old man from Evesham and a 19-year-old man from Maple Shade. Both were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

A resident of the first block of Lavender Lane reported that someone attempted to force entry into their residence on May 2 between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m. Two windows were broken by the suspect, but no entry was gained.
