Seneca KanJam/Cornhole Tournament The Seneca High School Class of 2018 likes to have some fun while it raises money.

On Tuesday, March 31, the main gym played host to a Cornhole/KanJam tournament. One hundred and eight students came ready to compete, sporting their Golden Eagle pride with their outfits.

“We have a series of different tournaments. We play dodgeball and volleyball as well,” said Jay Donoghue, who was in charge of the event.

The student government for the freshman class got together to formulate the idea for the event.

It is something they have been planning since January, so they were able to get a hold of numerous cornhole boards and KanJam sets from various places. There were a lot of people who brought their personal sets from home to help.

They decided to split the contestants up into 27 teams of four to make the tournaments run more smoothly.

“We thought it would be most beneficial to play games like this that everyone could enjoy,” Donoghue said. “We also wanted to bring a laid back, beach theme to the event.”

The total earnings made will provide a nice boost for things such as their junior dinner dance, senior trip or anywhere else that it is needed.
