The Red Lion State Police are still searching for a suspect wanted for attempted child luring.

“Two separate incidents are being investigated in which a male approached and initiated conversation with two minors,” Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.

The male was described in the police report as a heavy-set male with a longer dark grey beard and a high-pitched voice. On March 12,he spoke to one of the girls, asking her about the breed of dog she was walking. He reappeared on March 22 as the two girls observed the same man and vehicle drive by them and then circle around, making the girls feel uncomfortable.

Det. Ryon Barclay at the Red Lion Barracks believed the girls’ concerns were valid after questioning the two students, who attend Olsen Middle School.

The vehicle the suspect was operating was described by police as an older black pickup truck, with a white stripe from the front wheel to the rear wheel. The suspicious activity occurred in the area of Powell Place and Noname Road during the afternoon hours.

“We posted a sketch on our Facebook page on March 26 and it has gotten a lot of attention,” Flynn said.

There are two photos posted, one of the man’s projected face and one of his vehicle. Troopers from Red Lion Station are asking the public to be on the lookout for suspicious activity incorporating the two.

The post has received more than 160 likes and 300 shares. The majority of the comments from residents agree to having seen this man at some point or another. Another common theme were people being surprised by how strikingly similar he looks to a man who is currently being searched for in Brunswick, Maine. There have been no updates about this case as it is still under investigation.

Residents are directed to contact the Red Lion Police Station at (609) 859–2282 if they see the vehicle. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review with their children the importance of not speaking with strangers or allowing themselves to be engaged by strangers.
