Drug possession, identification fraud tops Mt. Laurel Police report

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On April 6 at 11:40 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Clover Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver and passenger. A 32-year-old man from Camden was charged with hindering his own apprehension after he provided a false name in order to avoid arrest on several criminal and traffic warrants. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5000 full and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail. A 48-year-old woman from Bellmawr was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a court hearing.

On April 6 at 4:45 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Fellowship Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 42-year-old man from Wilmington, Del. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.

On April 7 at 12:25 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Church Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 49-year-old man from Marlton, for an outstanding traffic warrant. He was also found in possession of crack cocaine. He was charged with possession of cocaine and released after posting bail on the warrant.

On April 7 at 1:40 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a check on a suspicious vehicle parked at a business at 4101 Church Road. During the investigation officers arrested a 23-year-old woman from Browns Mills. She was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending a court hearing.

On April 7 at 10:20 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on Horseshoe Drive for a theft report. During the investigation officers arrested a 23-year-old man from Mt. Laurel for outstanding warrants. He was also found in possession of heroin. He was charged with possession of heroin and turned over to Camden County Police for the outstanding warrant. Also arrested was a 23-year-old woman from Trappe, Pa. She was charged with possession of heroin and released pending a court hearing.

A resident on Mt. Laurel Road reported that someone filed a fraudulent tax return with the IRS using their identification.

A resident on Albridge Way reported that three tires on her vehicle were punctured sometime between April 6 and April 7.

A resident of the 200 block of Ramblewood Parkway reported that their vehicle was entered during the overnight hours of April 8. A wallet and unknown amount of money was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

On April 8 at 1:05 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Ark Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 23-year-old woman from Lumberton after she identified herself using a fraudulent driver’s license. She was charged with exhibiting a false government document and hindering her own apprehension. She was released pending a court hearing.

On April 8 at 3:12 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to Route 73 near the New Jersey Turnpike for a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation one of the involved drivers was arrested. A 44-year-old woman from Palmyra was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On April 8 at 11 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Creek Road near Centerton Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver a 49-yea-old man from Willingboro. He provided a false identity to officers in an attempt to avoid being arrested for an outstanding warrant. He was released pending a court hearing after posting bail on the warrant.

On April 9 at 3:45 p.m., a resident on the first block of Bretton Way reported seeing someone peering into their house through a rear window. The suspect fled when he made eye contact with the resident who was in the house. The suspect was described as a black male, five-feet 10-nches tall, 150 pounds, approximately 25 to 30 years old, wearing dark blue sweat pants, dark blue sweatshirt, red sneakers, and a black “beanie” style hat with a red emblem on it. The suspect was last seen running south into a wooded area that borders Ark Road.

A resident of Coventry Way reported an unidentified subject fraudulently filed a federal tax return using the victim’s personal information.

On April 11 at 11:50 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Hartford Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 25-year-old man from Pennsauken, and charged him with driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court hearing. Officers also arrested the passenger, a 22-year-old man from Pennsauken, after he provided a false identity to officers in an attempt to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant. Bail was set at $2,500 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

A patron of Miller’s Ale House reported that her purse was stolen after she left it unattended on a chair on April 10 between 10:20 p.m. and 1 a.m.

On April 11 at 3:25 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Nixon Drive near Lenola Road after an officer observed a passenger hanging out of an open door while the vehicle was in motion. During the stop officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Maple Shade. He was charged with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest and possession of false government identification. Bail was set at $10,000 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On April 11 at 3:35 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the stop officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Camden. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

On April 11 at 7:05 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Route 73 for a disturbance. During the investigation officers arrested a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman from Staten Island, N.Y. Both were charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, being under the influence of drugs, and child neglect. Two children who were in the care of the couple were turned over to another family member. Bail for the man was set at $25,000 with no 10 percent option and bail for the woman was set at $15,000 with 10 percent option. Both were committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On April 11 at 11:10 p.m. a resident on the 300 block of Carlton Lane reported someone threw a rock through the front window of the residence.
